Brush Strokes Gallery is
composed of 22 juried artists from the historic
Fredericksburg, Virginia area with diverse styles, media, and
backgrounds. Our
group formally began in April of 2004 when we opened our doors
at 108 Hanover Street in historic downtown Fredericksburg.
The
founding artists envisioned a venue for the purpose of displaying art
work and offering opportunities for the surrounding community to become
more involved in the local visual arts culture.
As our membership changes
and grows, so do our artistic endeavors. This
forward thinking can be seen in our variety of exhibitions, class
offerings, special events, and involvement with the community in a
variety of philanthropic functions. We are truly interested in
promoting and supporting the arts in our community.
In addition to our gallery, many
of our members also exhibit at Caroline
St. Cafe and Catering in downtown Fredericksburg and
Keystone Coffee Shop on Princess Ann Street in Fredericksburg.
Private
showings are also presented
throughout the year in other venues.
In February 2006 Brush Strokes
Gallery moved onto the main street of Fredericksburg at
810 Caroline Street, where we are able to feature two of our members in
the atrium each month, in addition to four members featured in the
large storefront window of our new location. Brush Strokes
exhibits change once a month and new works can be seen starting with a
reception on the First Friday of each month from 6 to 9 pm. We invite
you to visit with us, and enjoy our fine arts
gallery.
